About

Take a journey across far-reaching worlds, both real and imagined. Lo & the High Road is a Celtic-inspired, five-piece folk band that mixes traditional folk music and originals. Their music is inspired by the whimsical, from fantasy to Greek Mythology, all tied together with traditional Celtic instruments and a love of storytelling. Come down to hear some of your favourite Celtic tunes and also find some new Canadian music to love.

About Lo & the High Road

Lo & the High Road is made up of two musicians, Lauren Halász (songwriting, vocals, bass, bodhrán) and Colin McMahon (songwriting, arrangement, production, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki), as well as additional guest artists. Lo & the High Road plays Celtic folk music, writing originals inspired by fantasy, folklore and nature. They also perform traditional folk songs from Canada, Ireland, Scotland and more. They released their first album, Jackalope Tales (& other stories), in 2023. It explores themes of growing up, resilience and childhood wonder. Every song on the album has an element of whimsy, while still being grounded in reality.
