Printmaking: Young Collagraph

How can prints made by Inuit artists inspire your collagraph print?

Program Description

Through examination of Inuit prints, your students gain an understanding of the printmaking process and insight into how Inuit artists draw inspiration from the world around them.

With the support of our artist educators, your students will explore the collagraph printmaking process by collaging an imaginary animal using textured materials then ink and print at least one image!

Program Objectives

By the end of the Printmaking: Young Collagraph program, students will:

  • Discover the history of printmaking through the lens of Inuit culture.
  • Explore shape, texture and pattern to create a relief printing plate.
  • Produce several coloured prints.
