Program Description

The automatic drawings of the Surrealists inspire this engaging program. Students are encouraged to free their inhibitions and experiment with the idea of chance and accidents in their creative process. Your students will explore drawing and painting techniques and gain a deeper understanding of the media. 

Program Objectives

By the end of the Painting: Random Acts of Paint program, students will:

  • View historical examples of abstract art.
  • Produce a painting that focuses on the use of chance and accidents in the creative process.
  • Explore colour theory and painting techniques.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of painting vocabulary.
