Program Description
Students will learn how textile arts can bring communities together and encourage collaboration. After being presented with textile works that champion sustainability and stewardship, students will create a two-dimensional textile work that brings awareness to an environmental issue within their community.
Program Objectives
By the end of the Textile Arts – The Fabric of Sustainability program, students will:
- Explore artworks that address sustainability, stewardship or bring awareness to environmental concerns.
- Experiment with recycled fabrics and collage techniques.
- Produce a two-dimensional textile work that brings awareness to an environmental issue within their community.
