Program Description
Students will gain an understanding of Indigenous connections to land and place, while engaging in an experiential learning opportunity as they explore the waterfront community. Following a community walk, students will create an artwork in response to their personal connections to land and place; experimenting with shapes, colours, lines and textures to express their reflections.
Program Objectives
By the end of the Seasonal Program – Building Connections to the Land program, students will:
- Gain an understanding of Indigenous connections to land and place
- Explore colour theory and painting techniques
- Produce a two-dimensional artwork that communications emotions, expressions and experiences
