If you are interested in extending your students' learning beyond a single visit, our Performing Arts programs can be booked over multiple days or expanded into a full unit to deepen student learning.

60 minute workshops
Dance – Creative Movement
Grades K–3
In this program, students will explore the elements of dance through a variety of movement activities. Using play and imagination, students will learn how to express themselves as creative movers.
Key Inquiry Question:
How can we use movement as a tool for self-expression?
Program Objectives
By the end of the Dance – Creative Movement program, students will:
- Gain an understanding of movement/dance through the elements of dance (specifically body, space and time).
- Use playful exploration as a starting point for creating choreography.
- Learn and perform a short dance sequence.

Dance – Primary Hip Hop
Grades 1–3
In this high energy workshop, students will work with an experienced dance educator to explore the pillars of hip-hop as a tool for empowerment and self-expression.
Key Inquiry Question:
How can the elements of hip hop be a tool for self-expression?
Program Objectives
By the end of the Dance – Primary Hip Hop program, students will:
- Explore the origins and five pillars of hip-hop (DJing, MCing, Graffiti, Breaking and Knowledge).
- Express themselves through a variety of dance-based games/activities.
- Gain a deeper understanding of different representations of hip-hop culture as it exists in the world around them.

90 minute workshops
Dance – Hip-Hop and Street Styles
Grades 4–8
This program provides students an opportunity to cultivate self-expression and build community by drawing from a variety of Street Style dance traditions.
Key Inquiry Question:
How can the evolution of Hip-Hop and Street Styles influence your personal expression?
Program Objectives
By the end of the Dance – Hip-Hop and Street Styles program, students will:
- Explore the origins and five pillars of Hip-Hop (DJing, MCing, Graffiti, Breaking and Knowledge).
- Demonstrate fundamental movement skills, such as bounce, rock and groove that are essential to Hip-Hop and Street Styles.
- Work through a variety of Hip-Hop traditions, like cyphers and call-and-response to gain deeper cultural understanding.

Drama – Improv
Grades 4–8
This workshop provides an opportunity for students to explore improvisation techniques, build confidence through spontaneous collaboration and envision creative possibilities.

How can developing skills in improvisation benefit you in your everyday life?
Program Objectives
By the end of the Drama – Improv program, students will:
- Learn about historical and contemporary examples of improvisation.
- Understand the fundamentals of improvisation.
- Use vocabulary as related to improvisation appropriately.

Booking Details
Grades K–8 (Half-Day)
Please note: a minimum of two workshops must be booked per day with a maximum of three workshops per day. Each workshop can accommodate a maximum of 35 students.
