Creative Edge: My First Field Trip

A new experience developed with the needs of kindergarten students in mind, My First Field Trip program gives students a taste of what Harbourfront Centre has to offer! This program will be delivered in three 45–60-minute sections: Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Campus Walk! Our programming ensures students understand the expectations of being in a public space and how arts and culture centres support all forms of creative expression. They will also get two snack/meal breaks. (Snacks/meals not provided – please ensure students bring their own meals.). Please note that this program has a limit of two classes per day. 

•  Identify the diverse multiplicities of visual art forms available across Harbourfront Centre. 
• Gain familiarity with the social conventions of participating in a field trip and attending a museum or gallery.
• Understand the terms “artist,” “guest/audience member,” “community” and “respect” as they relate to social interactions and the arts.
