How can the arts function as a vehicle for social activism and inspire your wearable call to action?

Fully Booked

Program Description

In this full-day program, students will explore how textile arts have impacted social change across diverse communities. They will use this as inspiration to design and screen-print their own wearable patch, bringing awareness to a social justice issue that is of importance to them.

Program Objectives

By the end of the Seasonal Program – Screen Printing program, students will:

  • Gain an appreciation for the role the arts play as a form of social activism.
  • Experiment with the screen-printing process to make a wearable call to action on a patch of fabric.
  • Use vocabulary related to topics of social justice and the printmaking process appropriately.
