Program Description
Students are introduced to the rich diversity of body percussion across cultures through an exploration of contemporary artists. Students will use their bodies as instruments to discover the potential for musical expression through rhythm and sound.
Program Objectives
By the end of the Music – Body Percussion: Rhythms and Sounds program, students will:
- Gain an appreciation for the cultural roots of contemporary body percussion.
- Participate in a variety of activities, culminating in the creation of their own body percussion piece.
- Use vocabulary related to the elements of music and body percussion appropriately.
