Raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Treaty One territory, Julie Lumsden is a classically trained soprano, actor, musical theatre performer, audiobook narrator and JUNO Award nominee. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba’s Desautels Faculty of Music. Lumsden has enjoyed five seasons at the Shaw Festival and two seasons at the Stratford Festival and is grateful to join companies like the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Manitoba Opera, Edmonton Opera, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Neptune Theatre, ARC Stage, Rainbow Stage and many more.

Kate Carver is a Toronto-based vocal coach, collaborative pianist, music director and conductor. After completing her studies at McGill University in Piano and Collaborative piano, Carver spent several years in England training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, The Britten-Pears School and The National Opera Studio, while also apprenticing in groups like Broomhill Opera Kent, University College London Opera and British Youth Opera. 

Returning to Canada, she began her professional career as a member of the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble, moving very soon onto regular music staff, where she remained for well over a decade. In the same period, Carver recognized a dedication to working alongside emerging artists and students and has been on music staff with the University of Toronto Opera Division for many years. In more recent years, she also joined Wilfrid Laurier University as music director and conductor of Opera Theatre Laurier.
