We are currently seeking one or two collaborative, organized, responsible and service-oriented Marina Administrative Assistants to perform a variety of tasks to support the smooth running of our Marine Operations and a high-quality marina customer experience.

Employment Type: Seasonal contract from April 27 to September 7, 2026 (with work being potentially available to mid-October 2026)
Hours: An anticipated work schedule of 35-40 hours per week. Work shifts will take place during week days, as well as on weekends and holidays as these are busy periods in a marine environment. As such, availability to work a flexible 5-days a week work schedule is required.
Rate Of Pay: Compensation: $18.50 – $19 per hour
Location: On-site at our downtown marinas on Toronto’s waterfront
Duties
- Under the direction of the Manager, Marine Operations and the Dock Master/Head Dock Master, support the operation of our marinas through the execution of a range of administrative tasks, providing a high-quality experience for all marina and area tenants including those on the adjacent York Quay, Spadina Pier, HTO Park West and other areas.
- Perform all assigned administrative tasks such as but not limited to frontline greeting of customers at our offices, answering VHF radio, responding to and actioning phone and email inquiries, processing payments, managing the customer and boat data base, collecting and reviewing of customer insurance certificates, checking in and out of visitors and monthly customers, distributing delivered packages and managing customer communication within our marina management software Harbour Assist.
- Assist customers with slip applications and reservations and support the Dock Master/Head Dock Master with the processing of Marina reservations using the VHF Marine radio to communicate with vessels as required.
- Distribute and track gate access keys or fobs to customers.
- Assist with customer account collection issues as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to both summer and winter liveaboard marina customers and address reported concerns professionally.
- Become familiar with all safety and emergency procedures related to marina operations and work with our Safety and Security staff to report safety concerns.
- Report broken, unsafe items needing attention via a work order system.
- Facilitate the sale of retail bagged ice cubes and the tracking of ice inventory, as well as the sale and distribution of the City of Toronto Music Garden Audio tour devices (only at Marina Quay West).
- Provide change to customers for the operation of on-site coin operated laundry machines, submitting rolled coins to Finance with proper reports.
- Provide tourism and attraction information to visitors.
- Assist with keeping the marina area and the office facility clean, both in terms of debris on shore and around the water perimeters.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall marine operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a marina, yacht club or recreation community supporting administrative operations.
- A strong working knowledge of marina protocols, boating, and a passion for the marine industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional customer experiences, navigating differences with diplomacy, tact, and clear communication.
- The following certifications are considered strong assets:
- Bronze Cross or higher lifesaving swimming certification
- Ports Toronto Power Vessel Operators License
- Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate (PCOC).
- Federal Marine VHF Radio Operators Certificate
- Excellent organizational and communication skils, with the ability to work independently, take initiative and collaborate with other team members in a positive and constructive manner.
- Ability to be punctual, professional and adaptable in a dynamic marina environment.
- Proficient in standard computer programs (MS Word, Excel, email).
- Must be available to work a flexible work schedule which includes shifts during the week, on weekends and on holidays.
- As a condition of employment, a Criminal Background Check is required of the successful candidate. The cost of this screening is to be covered by the incumbent.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the seasonal contract.
- This role is based in Toronto. The candidate must be able to work on site at at any of our two marinas located on Toronto’s central waterfront along Queens Quay W.
