Overview

Please Note: The Preliminaries is a 7-hour event where audiences will come and go throughout the day. As this event is sold out, current ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early. A standby line will be in place for those who show up without a ticket. Ticket holders will be admitted as space in the venue permits, with standby line admitted sequentially.


In this head-to-head breaking competition, international breakers heading to the Paris 2024 Olympics are coming to Toronto to compete for cash prizes and to win the top titles at Harbourfront Centre’s first-ever Rock Harder Breaking Competition. Participating competitors will first take part in the Preliminaries earlier in the day, moving to the all-out Rock Harder Final Battles later that evening. Prepare to be electrified as the world’s most talented B-boys and B-girls come together on the floor for an adrenaline-pumping showcase of one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.  

The Preliminaries are a full-day line-up of breaking events. Audiences can come and watch the Youth Breaking and Open Breaking events in the afternoon and then watch professional breakers compete in front of a panel of the sport’s top judges for the Rock Harder Battles Preliminaries round. Selected finalists will move on to the ultimate show-down competition closing the evening: The Final Battles, bringing the best of the best B-boys and B-girls to the floor.

Breaking Canada is a not-for-profit organization expanding the sport of breaking in Canada while providing support and resources to Canada’s new breakers. Recently, athletes supported by Breaking Canada won gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games. Breaking Canada is supported by the Toronto Arts Council and additionally funded by the Government of Canada.
