We’re excited to celebrate the opening of the very first Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Community Soccer Pitch at Harbourfront Centre, creating a new free and accessible space for kids and families to come together through play.
As part of a national initiative to build 25 inclusive community soccer pitches across Canada by 2029, this new waterfront pitch is about more than just soccer. From first kicks to big goals, it’s about giving every child the chance to feel included, stay active and experience the joy of the game close to home.
Alongside the open pitch, the space will also host several community programs and recreation opportunities for city residents.
The Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Community Soccer Pitch at Harbourfront Centre is a free and accessible waterfront space for kids, families and community members to come together through play.
Part of a national initiative to build 25 inclusive community soccer pitches across Canada by 2029, the pitch is about more than soccer. From first kicks to big goals, it gives children and community members a place to stay active, connect and experience the joy of the game.
The pitch is open daily from 8am to 11pm, weather permitting, with a combination of first-come, first-play access and free reserved booking times.
Players can also borrow soccer balls for free at the pitch through the Equip Sports app. Please review the Pitch Rules and Code of Conduct before taking to the field.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities (Jumpstart) is a national charity committed to helping kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities. With an extensive national network comprising more than 1,000 grantees and 289 local chapters, Jumpstart is dedicated to supporting families in financial need and empowering community partners to develop inclusive programming and infrastructure for all Canadian kids. Supported by the Canadian Tire Corporation, Jumpstart has provided more than 4 million opportunities for Canadian kids to get into the game since 2005. How to Book
- Visit the online booking system.
- Create your pitch account.
- Select an available date and time.
- Confirm your booking.
Public bookings are free and limited to one 1-hour booking per day. Maximum four bookings in a 30 day window period. All bookings are subject to availability, weather conditions and the Pitch Rules and Code of Conduct. Available booking times will be displayed based on the information provided during registration.
Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive an email confirmation. You’ll also receive an email if your booking is changed or cancelled, including cancellations due to inclement weather.
Community Groups and Schools
The pitch is dedicated for schools and equity-deserving community groups, including girls and young women, youth facing financial or systemic barriers, newcomers, Indigenous and racialized communities, youth with disabilities, and other groups that have historically experienced barriers to accessing sport and recreation.
Harbourfront Centre will be working directly with local community groups and schools to help program the pitch and create opportunities for community use. If you represent a school or community group and are interested in using the pitch, or have questions about community programming and bookings, please use our Pitch Booking Enquiry form.
Eligible community groups will have access to designated weekday community booking times from 10am – 5pm.

Pitch Rules and Code of Conduct
Rules of Play
- Open to all ages and abilities
- Be respectful and kind to others
- Respect confirmed bookings and permitted groups
- During first-come, first-play periods, limit play to one hour when others are waiting
- Play safely and have fun
- Use the pitch at your own risk
Play Safe
- Wear appropriate footwear; no metal cleats
- Follow all posted pitch rules and hours
- Reserved pitch users have priority. If a group with a confirmed reservation arrives, please allow them to access the pitch.
- The pitch may close due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions
Care for our Pitch
This is a shared community space for everyone. Please help us take care of our pitch.

- No alcohol, smoking or vaping
- No glass
- No bikes, scooters or skateboards
- No climbing on goals or fences
Security and Safety
In case of emergency, call 9-1-1. An emergency is any situation that requires immediate assistance from police, fire or paramedics.
