Overview

DIVA is a celebration of the quintessential foundation of classic Drag: impersonation!  

DIVA is a fully curated and choreographed show of outstanding drag artists who embody the lyrics, likeness, mannerisms, costumes, hair and makeup of the classic DIVA they are impersonating. The Divas (or Divos) portrayed are legends with recognizable and enjoyable anthems that appeal to a broad audience to transport fans to the first time they discovered the icons we know and love to this day. All charisma, all glamour, all DIVA!

About Hollywood Jade Anderson

A visionary with a passion for excellence, Hollywood Jade wears multiple hats as a choreographer, artistic director, performance coach and media personality. Finding exciting ways to present his timeless creativity to the masses, Hollywood Jade has showcased his multidimensional artistic creations on the big and small screen, local and international stages, and has worked with some of the world’s top organizations, artists and talents. As a highly in-demand choreographer, some of Hollywood Jade’s notable clients include Keshia Chante, Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Bebe Rexha and Meghan Trainor, and his choreography in The Soul of Motown earned him a Betty Mitchell Award nomination for “Outstanding Choreography or Fight Direction.” 

Hollywood Jade has served as the artistic director of The Black Diamond Ball, is a contributing member of Artist’s in Motion and has spent time as a cast member in Dora Mavor Moore’s award-winning company Holla Jazz (FLOOR’D). He appeared on an episode of CTV’s The Social, was featured on the cover of IN Magazine and made history choreographing a ground-breaking halftime show for the Toronto Raptors. He is the first at the NBA to showcase a drag performance, and he is currently the resident choreographer and recurring guest judge on Canada’s Drag Race.  

With numerous exciting new projects on the way, an ongoing partnership with Adidas, a passion for social justice and an enduring commitment to the betterment of his community, Hollywood Jane’s ambition is only hampered by the limits of his imagination, and he continues to carve out his niche in the entertainment business. 

About Jada Shada Hudson

“Toronto’s Turn Up Queen” Ms. Jada Shada Hudson, born and raised in Barbados, was a starting star. At a young age, she began performing in professional theatre and kept matriculating her talents at the national level with Barbados’ leading dance troupe. Upon immigrating to Canada, Hudson delved deep into the drag scene and came out on top. Along with being a recurring panelist on the hit show 1 Queen, 5 Queers, Hudson was a contestant on the third season of Drag Race Canada, which premiered in July 2022. For the past 13 years, she has dominated not only Toronto’s drag scene but queer celebrations all over the country. Hudson has gained notoriety for being bubbly and gracious and garnered top brands’ attention in campaigns for Spotify, Fireball, Bud Light and BMO. 

About Vitality Black

Vitality Black was born and raised in the Caribbean in the island country Bahamas. She came to Toronto in 2005 and never went back. Vitality started her drag career in 2011 for Candice’s Star Search and couldn’t stop going. Vitality Black loves performing, carries herself with poise, has won numerous pageants and is a former reigning Miss Gay Toronto 2016. Her mentor was her amazing aunt, the late great Chris Edwards, who always guided her through and gave the best advice. Vitality Black was happy that her aunt lived to see her crowned Miss Gay Toronto. 

About Manny Dingo

Manny Dingo is a Drag King that hails from Halewood, Nova Scotia. He has been performing since 2015 and started taking up space in Toronto in 2019. He is a powerhouse performer, shy boi and amature DJ. Dingo serves you a mixture of Prince, Lil Nas X and your favorite fashionable gay uncle. He incorporates gymnastics with voguing, waacking and smooth dance moves across the floor. 

About Hand Awnya

Hand Awnya is a Toronto-based singer, actor, dancer, female impersonator and entertainer. They hail from the island of Jamaica and have been performing since their eyes were at their knees. Since moving to Toronto, they’ve had the pleasure of gracing many famous Toronto stages and participating in several musicals, including DreamgirlsRagtimeRENTOnce On This Island and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert. Whitney Houston was a household name and staple growing up, and they’re over the moon about having the opportunity to embody such an icon.
