About
This special Visual Arts exhibition showcases the Philippines’ rich historical and cultural tapestry, offering insight into a nation of 7641 islands.
Each work is a window into the past, accompanied by relevant historical facts, making this collection an invaluable educational resource. It not only enlightens the public about the Philippines’ past, but also fosters a deep understanding of its people and traditions. It serves as a vital platform for younger generations to connect with and appreciate their ethnic roots.
Decorative and practical artisanal works will be presented from objects made from the delicate shells of windowpane oysters to Sungka, a traditional Filipino game carved from wood and Sinamay cloth woven from the fibres of the abaca plant.
Included in this Visual Arts presentation is an exhibition of paintings and drawings presented by the Philippine Artist Group of Canada (PAG) and an installation celebrating the national bird of the country, HARING IBON (King of Birds).
