About

On her first day at her first job, a young woman receives a $15 tip from a man. The next day, he tips her $100. Then $150. She’s good at making cappuccinos, but not that good.

So begins Performance Review, Rosamund Small’s darkly comic solo show chronicling seven of the worst days at seven different jobs. Inspired by true events and performed in the intimate setting of a working cafe, this is an exploration of power, exploitation and sexual violence in the workplace, exposing the disturbing realities lurking beneath the everyday.

With the confessional wit of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag and the unflinching candour of Sarah Polley’s Run Toward the Danger, Small delivers a performance that is as incisive as it is outrageous.

Following a Dora Award nomination for Outstanding New Play and a fast-selling, sold-out premiere, Performance Review returns to Toronto for a limited engagement at Boxcar Social.

More details coming soon.
