As such, we are seeking several dynamic and collaborative Camp Supervisors with a can-do-attitude to oversee all aspects of their assigned camp program including training and supervision of staff, assisting with creation of work schedules, performing administrative duties and more.
Position Title: Camp Supervisor
Department: Education, Camps
Number of Vacancies: 3 (Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Specialty)
Type of Employment: Seasonal contract, from May – September 2025. Training starting in May 2025 (part-time hours) with an increase to a regular work schedule in June. Camps run from June 30 -August 30, 2025.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 35-40 hours per week (training on weekends may be assigned)
Rate of Pay: $21 per hour
Work Location: On-site at our waterfront campus in Toronto

Job Description
The Camp Supervisors are responsible for overseeing all aspects of their specific summer camp program category ( Visual Arts, Sailing, Dungeons and Dragons, Chess, Magic or Performing Arts) from assisting in training and managing a team of 4-5 Program Facilitators, to monitoring and evaluating the programming to ensure it meets the camp’s goals and standard, to conducting staff evaluations, preparing incident reports, overseeing camper drop-off and pick-up procedures, supporting the professional growth of co-op students and volunteers and other duties of a similar nature that support the overall smooth running of our camps. Our ideal candidates will possess a positive, adaptable attitude and the ability to manage shifting priorities and evolving tasks with flexibility.
Duties
- Assist in training and development of Program Facilitators and Counsellors.
- Supervise a team of 4-5 Program Facilitators, ensuring smooth operations of their respective camps.
- Monitor and evaluate programming throughout the summer to ensure it meets camp goals and standards.
- Perform administrative tasks, including evaluations, incident reports, parent newsletters, and other documentation.
- Conduct regular check-ins and meetings with assigned Program Facilitators to provide support and guidance.
- Oversee camper drop-off, pick-up, and other travel locations, ensuring smooth transitions for campers.
- Assist the Assistant Manager with weekly staffing assignments and scheduling.
- Support the Camps Coordinator in organizing and conducting weekly staff meetings.
- Assist with inventory management, organization, and supply distribution.
- Provide excellent customer service to campers, families, and staff.
- Address elevated customer service concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist in ensuring camper and staff safety during emergency procedures.
- Support the professional development and growth of leadership camps and co-op students as required.
- Help organize and facilitate end-of-session Open House performances and exhibitions.
- Coordinate and facilitate staff social events to build team morale.
- Provide rare and limited assistance with toileting campers if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the camp operations.
Requirements
- Currently studying in post-secondary education in a field such as education, the arts, administration, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience within a camp (day or overnight), daycare or educational setting.
- 1-2 years’ previous experience directly leading camp programs and/or educational programs with children and youth.
- Experience supervising staff or volunteers within a camp or educational setting is considered an asset.
- Experience with one of the specialized disciplines: sailing, visual arts, fashion, circus, dance, performing arts, games, science etc.
- Ability to coach and provide constructive feedback to staff, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring top performance from the team.
- Commitment to youth education and lifelong learning.
- A positive and energetic attitude, fostering a motivating and supportive environment.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and manage and prioritize daily responsibilities effectively.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively guide staff through training sessions that align with program goals, ensuring a positive and safe environment for all participants.
- A sense of punctuality, strong organizational skills to approach work tasks efficiently and effectively and the ability to prioritize urgent tasks, balancing time constraints and staying on track with schedules.
- Must enjoy engaging with and supporting the development of children and youth in a camp setting.
- Comfortable using phones and proficient in common computer programs (e.g., MS Word, Excel, email, printers, and laminators);
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification is ideal.
- As a condition of employment, a Criminal Background Check (with Vulnerable Sector Check) is required of the successful candidate. The cost of this screening is to be covered by the incumbent;
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. All international applicants must have a valid employment Visa authorizing their ability to work in Canada on a full-time, ongoing basis.
- This role is based in Toronto. The candidate must be able to work on site at our lakeside campus.
