Overview

Canada’s quintessential violinist Erika Raum interprets the dances of Bach on solo violin. As members of her family later join her, the spirit of dance flows into more contemporary but equally familiar sounds.

About About Erika Raum and the Daniel-Raum Family

The Daniel-Raum Family represents the fourth generation of a family of professional musicians and composers, playing everything from jazz and classical to bluegrass and rock-n-roll. Mother and violinist Erika Raum is a three-time Grammy Award nominee and Joszef Szigeti International violin competition winner. She has performed concertos with many of Canada’s major orchestras and chamber music in some of the world’s greatest halls, including Wigmore, Carnegie and the Concertgebouw. Triplets Oskar, Eero (with sister Roxanne), and Rosie have quickly carved out their musical identities. They have all won numerous awards and scholarships through the Kiwanis Music Festival and were recently honoured to perform at an event celebrating its hundredth anniversary. They have performed at many Toronto venues, including the Danforth Music Hall, the Lula Lounge and the Artful Dodger.
