About Melissa Davis and Friends

Canadian mezzo-soprano Melissa Davis is a dynamic concert soloist, vocal professor, choral director and vocal clinician. Awarded the distinguished Debut Artist Award by the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Illinois, Davis has guest soloed with Grammy and JUNO Award-winning choirs and orchestras, including the Buffalo Philharmonic orchestra and has also toured internationally, singing in France, Wales, the Caribbean and throughout North America in concert and opera productions. In 2015, Davis released her live solo debut album, City Called Heaven: An Evening of Songs and Spirituals, with gospel and classical favourites, and she continues her work in these genres as Assistant Professor and Head of Vocal Performance at York University.
