Overview

An Indian-alternative artist exploring the multitude of influences that create her sound, Shirsha weaves her pop aesthetic with unconventional chord progressions and vocals for a mashup of original songs and popular covers in Bollywood and Hindi to urban jazz and R&B. With an experimental and improvisational approach to her music, audiences will enjoy her performances of underrated gems and chart-topping tunes.

About Shirsha

Shirsha is a captivating new Indian alternative R&B artist with over a decade of experience performing across North America and internationally as a versatile cover singer. Using influences from Bollywood, jazz, R&B and rock, her songwriting tells intriguing stories through a seamless melting pot of sound, bringing audiences a unique experience.   

Shirsha won a national Indian vocal competition, Voice of Storm, judged by Shankar Mahadevan. She then recorded a song with Mahadevan, “Laadli.” She has performed with Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Ash King. She has also worked with Grammy-winning bassist Christian McBride and producer Larry Klein.  

Recently, Shirsha’s short live cover of “Tere Bina” from Guru went viral on Instagram, garnering almost two million views. Due to audience requests, she recorded a more extended version with famous South Indian producer Yanchan (Yaan-sen). Soon after, she independently released an R&B style cover of a Hindi song by Shekhar Ravjiani, from renowned Bollywood composer duo Vishal-Shekhar, who officially re-released it under his new label. Shirsha has her debut and sophomore original singles out on all streaming platforms and is working on new material.
