About Nailah Blackman

From her breakout year in 2017, Nailah has positioned herself as a leader through her music, style, and charisma. In five short years, the Soca Princess has sung her way into people’s hearts throughout the world.

The multi-talented singer grew up in South Trinidad, where music and love for her culture flowed through her veins. The granddaughter of the legendary Ras Shorty I, creator of Soca music, and the daughter of musician, actress and designer Abbi Blackman, Nailah has always been destined for greatness.

Nailah Blackman made her debut with her first official solo release, the 2017 hit song Baila Marni. In 2018, Nailah was nominated for the Viewers’ Choice: Best New International Act award at the BET Awards, and was presented with a Cultural Ambassador Award from the New York Senate during New York City’s Labor Day Celebrations.

Over the years Nailah has shown her musical versatility and talent with the release of her first EP The Reel, a performance at Coachella and a collaboration with Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold for the fan favourite track AG Baby. She was also featured in the Coachella Curated series which aired to over 50 million people in April 2019.

Nailah consistently releases hits and has worked with some of the biggest artists from the Caribbean such as Shenseea, Konshens, Kes Dieffenthaller, Tarrus Riley and living legend, Calypso Rose.

Nailah tours all over the world and has touched stages such as Olympia in Paris and countless others in Japan, Switzerland, Canada, USA and the Caribbean. She also also been featured by renowned media outlets such as Al Jazeera, AJ+, NOW Magazine, Yahoo’s ‘In The Know’, New York’s Hot 97fm, Lagos Hot 93.Jfm, Uganda’s BBS Terefayina, The FADER, Noisey, Jamaica Gleaner, and Caribbean Beat, to name a few.

Nailah’s music continues to touch people worldwide and her goal is to do more collaborations with international artists, build her clothing brand, Sokah Gyal, and make major breakthroughs while also being a cultural ambassador for her country.

DJ Power is an award-winning DJ/producer who has released music and performed with international artists such as Sean Paul, 50 Cent, Chainsmokers, Walshy Fire (Major Lazer), Afro B, Wyclef Jean and moreHis productions have been featured in The New York TimesComplex and Fader, and he has appeared on MTV, BBC UK and VH1. DJ Power has toured North America, the Caribbean, Asia and Australia. His latest single, “Choose to Lie,” is out now with Alex Mali, Reekado Banks and Ajura, mixing Afrobeats with R&B rhythm.
