Calgary-born, Toronto-based artist Caroline “Lady C” Fraser started her journey young.  Coming from a long lineage of musicians, dancers and entertainers, she came by her life as an artist honestly and organically.  

Lady C discovered the street dance community in her late teens. She began studying under many of the pioneers and legends of popping, locking, house and hip-hop, such as Popin Pete, Sugapop, Caleaf Sellers and Link to name a few.  She felt an instant and deep connection to these dance forms and continued to pursue them further by participating in the culture through battling, performing and exchanging in these communities. 

She got her start in performance and entertainment through dance, eventually leading her to a career as a professional dance artist under the pseudonym “Lady C,” where she built a worldwide successful reputation.  

As a dancer, her main focus is street dance culture. Although she has made her mark in this global community, her training includes a background in ballet, contemporary and tap dance and most recently extended into jazz dance forms with the Holla Jazz Dance Company. 

In 2012, she became a member of Soul Shifters Crew (USA) and, years later, Symbiotic Monsters Crew (CAN). Lady C has performed with Ebnfloh Dance Company (Montreal) and Holla Jazz Dance Company (Toronto) and choreographed her work, including a live music and dance collaborative work titled Conversation, which premiered with rave reviews at Toronto Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.  She holds titles from renowned events such as Red Bull Dance Your Style and Juste Debout and received two Dora Mavor Moore Awards and Canadian Dancer of the Year.  

In 2022, Lady C was invited to judge the locking category at Summer Dance Forever – one of the largest street dance events in the world. Lady C has simultaneously had a successful career in music as a vocal recording artist and songwriter under the same pseudonym. She is known for collaborating with house/electronic producer Cody ‘Coflo’ Ferreira and Neo-Funk producer Kay-Bee.  She has had multiple releases on labels such as AtJazz (UK), Catch the Ghost (CA), Merecumbe (NYC), Ocha (NYC) and Kept Records (CAN). In 2023, she released her first full-length solo album project under a new music pseudonym, “CEE.” The album SLP was released on digital and streaming platforms and was a limited vinyl release.
