About JoSH the Band

Canadian music group “JoSH” were formed in Montreal, Canada in the late 90’s.  Comprised of members Rup Magon and Qurram Hussain, JoSH has been producing, writing, and singing hit songs for over two decades and have performed in more than 25 countries. They have released four chart-topping albums selling more than three million records worldwide, most in India and Pakistan.  Based in Toronto now, the duo has become one of the most widely-recognized Indo-Pak-Canadian bands in the world.  JoSH has collaborated with international artists such as Nelly Furtado, Apache Indian, Rishi Rish, Domeno, Sukhbir, Timbaland, Priyanka Chopra.

Perhaps it was only in Canada where Rup, of Sikh background, and Q, who is Pakistani, could have made such a strong instant connection. They met in their hometown, Montreal, in the mid-1990s after Rup had already formed JoSH and established the band within the city’s South Asian community. Q had played in more mainstream rock bands but found in JoSH’s approach the room to explore his growing interest in Asian underground fusion.
