Join award-winning stand-up comedian Ed Hill, with his opener, Danish Anwar, for an evening of laughter as they explore the humorous side of independence, whether it’d be a nation, a people or a feeling.
About Ed Hill
Originally from Taiwan, Ed Hill is an award-winning comic who moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. In 2021, he became the first comedian of Taiwanese Canadian descent to release a full one-hour comedy special titled Candy & Smiley with Comedy Dynamics. The special was named “Top 15 Comedy Specials of 2021” by Paste Magazine and “Best of 2021” by NPR Radio. The special is currently streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
About Danish Anwar
Award-winning standup comedian Danish Anwar has built a comedy resume so thick the Kardashians are suing for copyright. As a standup, he has worked with comedy titans like Dave Attell, Russell Peters, Paul Provenza, Gina Yashere, Aparna Nancherla and Ms. Pat. He writes for CBC’s Because News, one of Canada’s most popular radio shows with a million weekly listeners. Anwar is the creator of the wildly popular battle show Your Hood’s A Joke – a global phenomenon currently playing in Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo, Bangkok and Toronto. He is the founder of Toronto Comedy All Stars, one of Canada’s most successful live comedy labels.
