The Hardcore Band is one of the top reggae bands out of Toronto, Canada.They’ve backed many international and local artists, such as Black Uhuru, Junior Reid, Frank Paul, Morgan Heritage, Turbulence, Michael Rose, Leroy Sibbles, Mutabaruka, Bushman, Abyssinians,The Melodians and many more. The five members have toured the world together and are currently preparing for a busy festival season across Canada.
About Steele
The three time, JUNO-nominated, seven-time Reggae Music Achievement Award Winner and multiple Reggae North Award winner, Steele, is described as dynamic and sensational, with the versatility and range that defies restriction to any one genre. Steele is as captivating in his handling of R&B material as he is with soul, classical and jazz, but make no mistake reggae is his first love.
Born in the town of Lucea, Hanover on the island of Jamaica, Steele’s inspiration comes from his parents who sang on the church choir. His first taste of success came with his recording of Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky,” produced by veteran singer and producer Tristan Palmer. In later years, Steele migrated to Canada where his musical impact continues to be felt. He is one of the most requested reggae artist to call Canada home because his music transcends all ages, gender and colour. T
He has made an indelible imprint on reggae audiences with appearances at various venues in most major cities in the country. He is a repeat and standout performer at festivals such as Jambana Festival and Rasta Fest, and has ignited the audience at Afro Fest, Toronto Beaches Jazz Festival, Eglinton Street Festival and Jamaica Day Celebration held in Toronto. He has also appeared internationally, performing in Africa and America, and in Jamaica on Reggae Sum Fest, Kite Festival and Rebel Salute.
Although most people recognize him as a singer, Steele is an accomplished musician, songwriter and producer. Under his Mobs Production Label, some of his recognition includes Best Male Vocalist of the Year, Best Songwriter of the Year, Artist of the Year, Producer of the Year and a People’s Choice Award winner, plus many more.
Steele continues to grow in popularity but remains humble, knowing that his fans are his greatest asset.
