About
Nagata Shachu brings the powerful, electrifying sound of taiko to life through a program of original compositions bridging the past with the present. Blending the thunderous energy of drums with the delicate textures of the three-stringed shamisen and bamboo flutes, the ensemble creates music that is both deeply rooted in heritage and boldly contemporary. Each piece reflects a commitment to innovation while honoring the spirit and discipline of traditional and folk forms.
With dynamic choreography and expressive musicianship, Nagata Shachu offers a performance experience that is as visually compelling as it is sonically rich. Their work invites audiences into a world where rhythm, movement and culture intersect in exciting and unexpected ways.
