From Lust To Loyalty

Overview

Banafsheh Taherian (Actress and Writer) started her now famous podcast “Chai with Banafsheh” in the early days of the pandemic in 2020. She used her newly gained platform to tell the lesser heard stories of ancient Persia, but with a modern twist. She dedicated the first season of her program to the famous romance of Khosrow & Shirin. A highly elaborated fictional version of the story of the love of the Sasanian king Khosrow II for the Armenian princess Shirin, who becomes queen of Persia.

“From Lust to Loyalty” is a monologue play rooted in the romance of Khosrow and Shirin by Nizami Ganjavi (12^th century Persian poet). Accompanied by sound design, and a live painting performance.
