Yanick Robichaud

Yanick Robichaud was first introduced to glassblowing when he started at Sheridan College in 2022. His work is heavily influenced by the Venetian style glass and pop culture themes, always looking for ways to add these themes into his work.

While at Sheridan College, a significant opportunity arose to work at the Corning Museum of Glass over the summer of 2024. It is there where he discovered his passion for goblet making, which has become a focus of his practice ever since. The following summer he did his co-op placement at Harbourfront Centre with Artist-in-Residents, Charlie Larouch-Potvin and Anthony Toomey. There he was able to learn many different techniques and assembly styles, leading to a great deal of growth he attributes to the immersed experience of working with such talented artists in both institutions.

That collaboration also provided him with the drive for technical precision, and leaning into the difficulty process of making Venetian-inspired glass. Since then, Robichaud has developed a deep appreciation for goblet-making and is drawn to its precision, technicality and endless variety of techniques and shapes achievable.
