After a foundation year at California College of the Arts, Rayce Min continued his studies at Nova Scotia College of Arts and Design, with a focus on Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing, and earned his BFA in 2024.
As an emerging metalsmith, Min has participated in exhibitions nationally and won first place at the Emerging Artist Design Competition organized by the Canadian Gemmological Association and was the Winner at the 20th Annual National Jewelley Student Competition organized by L. A. Pai Art Jewellery Gallery, Ottawa, Ontario.
He is currently focusing on his personal growth as an Artist-in-Residence at Harbourfront Centre, while exploring a variety of metal-forming techniques and heat colouring on metal as a new approach.
“ The residency is great; the studio has all the equipment that I need. And working with peers that have different styles can be inspiring. Plus, sometimes we have visiting artists, they always can give you different perspectives on your works which is really interesting.”
