TallBeat is Toronto’s high-energy, high-impact stilt-walking drum core guaranteed to bring joy and amazement to any celebration. With colourful costumes, choreography and traditional Maracatu drums, TallBeat raises Afro-Brazilian rhythms to new heights! It’s an experience that will remain etched in your minds and strong in your hearts.
Note: The first circus show at 1pm starts at the Public Square, and the 2:30pm and 4pm shows will roam around the campus.
About TallBeat Stilts
TallBeat is a stilt drumming troupe that brings the Maracatu percussion rhythms of Northeast Brazil to you from a great height! TallBeat was founded in Toronto, Canada, with members from Brazil and Canada. They came together, and some percussionists learned to walk on stilts, and some stilt-walkers learned to play and Tallbeat was born! The stilts make the Afro-Brazillian music and vibe larger than life.
