Yosakoi style dance originated in Kochi, Japan. It started in the 1950s after the war to revitalize the community. It brought unity and positivity to the community. Sakuramai Toronto has been actively performing mainly in the greater Toronto area for 12 years to spread the power of Yosakoi to Canada. Learn and dance Yosakoi with talented dancers and check out their unique colorful costumes on the day.
About Sakuramai Toronto
Japanese Yosakoi dance group Sakuramai was established in 2008. Since then, they have performed at events like Taste of the Danforth, the International Tourism and Travel Show in Toronto and Montreal, Japanese major league baseball night at the Rogers Centre and the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. Their goal is to introduce this unique and exciting dance style to Canadians to better their understanding of Japanese culture.
