Overview
The Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes (OCPA) is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 by a group of community-based individuals who saw the need for an umbrella group to guide the growth and development of the calypso art form in Toronto and across Canada. Its mandate is to promote storytelling, political and social commentary and comedy in song and to facilitate the growth and development of the calypso art form in all cultures. The organization is open to all interested in calypso for any reason.
