This six-week course is an introduction to working with clay through both wheel throwing and handbuilding. It’s open to beginners as well as anyone looking to refresh or build on their skills. Each class will include demonstrations alongside plenty of time to work at your own pace with guidance and feedback.
We’ll cover the basics of forming, joining, and surface decoration, with an emphasis on learning through making and experimentation. Students are encouraged to explore different approaches, develop their own ideas, and become comfortable working in the studio. Class sizes are kept small to allow for individual support. All materials, glazes, and firings are included in the course fee.
For any groups of 8 or smaller, please email craft@harbourfrontcentre.com as we may be able to accomodate you.
Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions to this rule for safety reasons.
Yes, any cancellations 5+ business days away from the start date of when your workshop begins is eligible for a refund.

You must apply for the program, follow the guidelines and meet the criteria required of applicants. This information can be found on our website (Residency Program Information) page. Applications open once a year in January and close in March.
The Craft & Design studios are 18+ only. However, we do have a craft-focused program through our School Visits department that specializes in that. For more information, you can visit the School Visits page on our website.
