Learn to throw your first cups, bowls and vases on the pottery wheel in this six-week course. You will learn the full process of throwing, trimming and glazing your ceramic pieces. Registration fee includes clay, glaze and firings.

Although both are beginner-friendly classes, Ceramics 101 offers eight sessions over eight weeks with wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, while Beginner Throwing offers six sessions over six weeks specific to learning wheel-throwing techniques.

Yes, any cancellations 5+ business days away from the start date of when your workshop begins is eligible for a refund.
Our studios are dedicated to our full-time Artists-in-Residence program; no studio access is allowed outside of the residency. The only exception is participants taking classes, who may only remain in the studio during actual class time.
You must apply for the program, follow the guidelines and meet the criteria required of applicants. This information can be found on our website (Residency Program Information) page. Applications open once a year in January and close in March.
The Craft & Design studios are 18+ only. However, we do have a craft-focused program through our School Visits department that specializes in that. For more information, you can visit the School Visits page on our website.
