About
Experience the magic of circus under the Big Top! In our full day Circus camp, your camper will dive into the thrilling world of circus arts, exploring a variety of exciting acts, including juggling, stilt-walking, acrobatics, tight wire, trapeze, mini trampoline and clowning. After being introduced to these fantastic circus skills, campers will have the opportunity to choose a specific act to focus on for the duration of the camp. They will work on perfecting their chosen act, collaborating with fellow campers and building their confidence as they prepare for their final Open House.
The equipment used in this program is designed with youth and safety in mind, ensuring every camper can enjoy the experience safely while honing their skills. Our team of experienced circus specialists works closely with trained counsellors to ensure safety and skill development throughout the camp, helping campers gain new abilities while having a blast. This high-flying, action-packed camp will allow your camper to shine, develop new talents and have the time of their life under the Big Top!
Each camp session (except for Session 5A) will wrap up with an exciting Open House circus performance on Friday. For Session 5A, a one-week session, the Open House will take the form of a Show-and-Share rather than a full performance, giving campers a chance to share their progress and experiences with family and friends.
Please note that the Open House performances are weather-permitting. We can’t wait for you to see the amazing talents your camper will showcase!
About our Circus Camps
These circus camps are expertly programmed by Rachel David, a seasoned circus professional and facilitator. Rachel’s journey in the circus world began right here at the Harbourfront Circus program over 35 years ago, under the mentorship of the legendary Marsha Kennington. With 30 years of experience as a performing circus artist, Rachel has dedicated the last 20 years to building social circus initiatives, using the circus arts as a powerful tool for access, personal growth, and social support in Canada and internationally.
Rachel, alongside her team of highly skilled and qualified circus professionals, ensures that each camper is supported and challenged at their own pace, based on their age and abilities. Whether they are beginners or more experienced, all campers will be encouraged to develop their skills in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
