Nagata Shachu Japanese Taiko and Music group celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a new production “Spin-Off”, the second concert of its 2022-2023 season. Featuring guest artists DJ Dopey and dancers Konatsu and Onton, Spin-Off is a collision of heart-stomping taiko beats, hip hop and jaw dropping dance moves.
Nagata Shachu is Canada’s pre-eminent taiko ensemble that has toured across North America and internationally. The ensemble has become renowned for its exacting, physically demanding and energetic performances on the taiko, as well as for its diverse repertoire.
B-boy Onton & B-girl Konatsu are world champion break dancers based out of Toronto. They are sponsored athletes representing Team Canada in multiple world events and future Paris 2024 Olympians. DJ Dopey is a founding member of the Turntable Monkz, and a DMC World Champion. He has shared stages with artists such as Eminem, Kanye West, Kardinal Offishall, and Steve Aoki.
