This workshop focuses on exploring stitched shibori techniques and patterns. We will cover multiple beginner techniques to create your silk shibori samplers. This workshop is a space for students to experiment with this beautiful Japanese textile technique and come away with several different designs to go forward with. 

Bring in your damaged and aged textiles and learn various clothing repair techniques. This workshop will cover multiple repair techniques and focus on those specific to the piece you need to fix. In this one-day workshop, students will learn various methods of primitive casting. The course will cover cuttlefish bone casting. Students will turn the cast pieces into finished pendants using several basic jewellery techniques. Please register at least three days before the start date so that the appropriate materials can be ordered. No experience is necessary. 

This workshop will explore the choreographic vocabulary of Fouad Boussouf’s Näss in the company of the choreographer Yanice Djae, who performs in the piece. You will experience the electrifying artistic direction that led to the creation of Näss, interacting within the group’s collective energy, pushing one’s limits and testing the body.
