Special Program – In Partnership with STO Union & Toronto’s Nuit Blanche: Post-Dramatic Theatre
What are the elements we consider when creating a live or theatrical art performance?
Program Description
In this workshop, students will have the chance to work with professional artists in the creation of STO Union’s Hopes and Fears Assembly performance for Toronto’s 2024 Nuit Blanche at Harbourfront Centre. Working with the theme of ‘Bridging Distance’, students will explore the basic technical elements (light, sound, stage, etc.) used in theatrical art, how to work with an artistic theme and the ‘post-dramatic theatre’ style. Please note that this program has a limit of one class.

Program Objectives
By the end of the Special Program – In Partnership with STO Union & Toronto’s Nuit Blanche: Post-Dramatic Theatre program, students will:
- Learn about the basic technical elements of theatre (light, sound, stage, etc.) and how they can be used as a live storytelling tool
- Learn about ‘post-dramatic theatre’ style
- Use vocabulary related to theatre
