Painting: Watercolour Trees
How can trees serve as inspiration for your art making?
Discover why artists are passionately drawn to trees as inspiration for artmaking. Harbourfront Centre’s campus allows students excellent opportunities to study trees. From dry brushes to washes, discover the creative possibilities of watercolour. Your students will be inspired by historical and contemporary works of art, explore drawing and painting techniques and gain a deeper understanding of the media.
By the end of the Painting: Watercolour Trees program, students will:
- Examine works by prominent artists to understand why they are drawn to trees as subject matter for their art.
- Discuss and apply colour theory to their work.
- Learn various drawing and painting techniques that will support the process of creating a watercolour painting inspired by trees.
