See professional craftspeople work in ceramics, glass, metal and textiles! Operating in full view of the public from February to December, the Craft Studio is a unique Canadian institution that assists emerging craftspeople to establish professional careers while at the same time exposing the public to the world of contemporary craft. These two goals are accomplished through residencies, exhibitions, workshops, lectures and craft courses.
If you have recently graduated from a recognized craft, design or art college/university and are interested in pursuing a full-time career in craft, you should consider an artists residency in the Craft Studio.
The Craft Studio residency programme acts as a stepping stone between school and a professional career. It is designed to assist and promote emerging, professional craftspeople by providing time, facilities, professional development programmes and resources to create and develop work.
Full-time openings in Hot-glass, Metal, Ceramics and Textiles. Summer openings in Metal, Textiles and Glass when space permits.
The Craft Studio at Harbourfront Centre also offers workshops, lectures and craft courses thoughout the year to expand your understanding and appreciation of Craft!
Harbourfront Centre's Craft Studio programmes are generously supported by Canadian Heritage, the City of Toronto, the Ontario Arts Council and the Canada Council for The Arts - Jean A. Chalmers Fund for the Crafts.
